Angelo is Committed to Solving Problems
Roads:
Making our roads safer by increased funds for local road maintenance and supporting driver safety programs for residents.
Work with VicRoads to ease traffic congestion along Pioneer Road, Heyers Road and monitor speed limits in residential streets.
Restore the Barwon Heads Bridge to as close to its original design and construction.
Environment:
Ensure growth occurs in an environmentally sustainable manner and key focus on recycling initiatives.
Restore and protect Lake Connewarre and Barwon River.
Rates:
Committed to low council rates. Apply a rate cap not exceeding CPI and payment flexibility for people under financial stress.
Planning:
Consult with nearby residents on major development applications.
Commitment to a sustainable growth strategy for Armstrong Creek, secure water supply and reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
Improvements to open space, leisure and recreational facilities – providing a safe environment to raise active, fit and healthy children.
Parking:
Increase car parking at Marshall Railway Station by working with the Department of Transport requesting additional spaces be provided on nearby land.
Provision of adequate parking to be a priority consideration for developments in Barwon Heads.
Water:
Oppose the expensive plan to connect Geelong and Melbourne water supplies which will cost families through high water bills.
Recycled water for non-drinking purposes in new housing developments for garden watering, toilet flushing and car washing.
Safety:
Crime rates in Geelong continue to spiral out of control. As your Councillor I will continue the fight for more police for Geelong. I have championed this cause in the past and I feel very strongly that Geelong needs more police to tackle crime.
